Book Fair
Chair:   Pam Rogers & Andrea DeLuca
Description:  

The PTA assists the school in hosting a week long book fair in the school library. Students and their families are given the opportunity to visit the fair and purchase inexpensive books. The school benefits by receiving new books and prizes, based on the amount of book fair sales. Volunteers are needed to help set up and staff the book fair and assist the children with their purchases.

Box Tops/General Mills

Description:  

Families can collect and submit General Mills Box Tops to the school throughout the year.  Volunteers are needed to compile and submit the Box Tops.

Cafeteria Help

Description:  

Volunteers will be needed in the school cafeteria to assist students with lunchtime needs.

Campbell's Labels

Description:  

Families can collect and submit Campbell’s product labels to the school throughout the year.  Volunteers are needed to compile and submit the labels.

Cultural Arts Programs
Chair:   Dottie Poole
Description:  

Each month through April, our children get to enjoy an array of assemblies. Volunteers for this committee select and schedule these assemblies, as well as introduce the guests to the children. This is fully funded by the PTA. This committee is also responsible for the 4th Grade Poetry workshop and the Writer's workshop. Parents are welcome to attend the assemblies.

Fall Family Funfest
Chair:   Helen Dyer, Natalie Alatzas, Kelly Schultz
Description:  

This family event is held in early Fall. Students and their families enjoy an evening of outdoor games, crafts, food and prizes. Volunteers are needed to help organize the event and assist in set-up and clean-up on the evening of the event, as well as donate used books and pastries for the cake walk.

Fall Fundraiser - Innisbrook Sales
Chair:   Sharlene Barron
Description:  

This is the major fund raising project for the PTA. The monies reaised from this event allow the PTA to offer our many programs and events for the children. This project is held for the first few weeks of school. Help is needed to coordinate the donation of prizes from local businesses, and assist with the distribution of the orders on pick-up day.

Famous Artist
Chair:   Kristen Young
Description:  

A Famous Artist volunteer visits each homeroom about five times during the school year, (twice during the Fall semester and three times during the Spring semester). We focus on one artist per month. During each classroom presentation, the volunteer highlights the artist's biography and the focus work of art, and then leads and activity in the style of that artist.

Each volunteer covers one or two homerooms and gives between five and ten presentations per year. Materials for the presentations are shared, so the volunteers schedule their presentations through the Committee Chair, to avoid scheduling conflicts. We also hold about five planning meetings thoughout the year.

Health Suite

Description:  

Volunteers are needed to assist the nurse with any light clerical work, organizing supplies, etc.

Hospitality

Description:  

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help provide refreshments for various activities. Some of these activities include: the Welcome Back Tea, PTA meetings, American Education Week, snacks for the children during standardized testing.

Ice Cream Social

Description:  

This family event will be held close to the end of the school year (late Spring).  Students and their families enjoy an evening of ice cream and family time. The event will be held behind the school in the garden area. Volunteers are needed to help plan the event, as well as help with set-up, serving and clean-up.

 
Membership

Volunteers are needed to distribute and collect PTA membership donations. Becoming a member of the PTA is vital to the success of our school community. We are the voices for our children.

Newsletter

Volunteers are needed to help compile a monthly newsletter to the Lutherville families. This newsletter helps to keep our parents and caregivers informed as to the many ways the PTA helps and enriches the school community. Pizza Bingo & Silent Auction

This family event is held in early Spring. Students and their families enjoy an evening of pizza, Bingo, and prizes. Volunteers are needed to help organize the event and assist in set-up and clean-up on the evening of the event, as well as donate goods for the dessert table.

Reflections
Chair:   Sarah Sheridan
Description:  

This is a county-wide contest held each year in late fall/early winter. Each year a theme is picked for the children to reflect on and express what that theme may mean to them through art, literature, photography or dance. Volunteers are needed to help distribute the information packets, process the entries received, and serve as judges for the work submitted by the children.

Room Representatives

Description:  

Volunteers are needed to act as classroom representatives for the year for each classroom. These volunteers will help to plan activities and parties for the children depending on what each teacher would like the volunteer to do. A separate flyer will be sent home for you to complete and return for these positions by the Room Representative chairperson.

Spirit Wear

Description:  

The PTA sells inexpensive clothing and novelty items with the Lutherville logo and mascot on them. This is a great way to show your support for the school. Volunteers are needed to select the items for sale and to process and distribute the orders.

Spring Fundraiser - Mixed Bag Designs

Staff Appreciation

Description:  

During National Teacher Appreciation Week, the first week of May each year, the PTA shows our gratitude to the wonderful teachers and staff at our school by sponsoring a special event each day. For example; a staff breakfast and lunch, a take home dinner, flowers and gift baskets for the teachers. Volunteers are needed to provide refreshments, as well as to assist in setting and cleaning up.

Tuesday Morning Mail Club

Description:  

The Tuesday Morning Mail Club (TMMC) has as its primary goal the efficient and consistent distribution of school and community information through flyers, forms, and notices. TMMC works to keep the paper burden manageable for both families and teachers by collating and distributing mail packets once a week.

Writer's Workshop

Description:  

This event is a part of the Cultural Arts Program and is a big hit with the children each year. Invited guests with varied careers visit the classrooms to discuss with the children the many ways that writing impacts their daily jobs. Volunteers are needed to coordinate guest speakers or to be a guest speaker, as well as to greet the guests and provide refreshments for them.

Yearbook

Description:  

The PTA prepares a wonderful yearbook for the children to capture all the great events of the school year. Specific deadlines are established thoughout the year with the printing company and volunteers are needed to help prepare the pages. Yearbooks need to be ordered in advance and voluntees are also needed to help process and distribute the books.
